A Few Random Pictures

So, I've been messing around with my "Vintage Camera" app again. I've been having a lot of fun with it. Here are some random pictures from some random moments.

 1. The first picture is a box that I decorated a while ago. I store all of my cards in there. Not only is it handy, but it's a nice decoration too.

2.I made a little clothes line for notes and pictures that I want to display. I love the little "Take What You Need" sign. I saw one on Pinterest and I just had to make one for myself.

3.I made this bag last summer. I just needed something new and fresh. I use it all the time now. It's big enough to hold everything I need, but not too big that it's annoying. It's perfect!

4. This is just a close up of the tag on the card box I decorated.

5. We had a game night at my cousins house. All of the little kids were playing "Cooties." I was taking pictures and snapped one of the box.

6.This is also a picture on my "clothes line." I love the chair. I didn't edit it, because I wanted the chairs color to show up good. I love it!

Pennents (I've gone crazy)

So I've kind of gone on a pennant rampage lately. I had some cute scraps of paper and I thought it would be a great project to use them on. I just cut out some triangles and threaded them together with embroidery thread. I made a small pennant and hooked it to two skewers. I plan to put it in a pot or jar. I haven't quite decided yet. I made a slightly larger one that I'm going to hang on my bookcase. They were super easy and didn't take too long to make.

Beautiful Moments

It seems as if I see a beautiful sunset every evening. I always rush to find my camera, but by the time I get back the sun has set and the moment has passed. Well, I guess I got lucky the other night. I look outside and see the beautiful sky. I whip out my iPod and start snapping photos. I didn't want to miss the beautiful scene. The pictures aren't as great as they could have been, but I at least got some. These sun sets make me realize how much beauty there is around us, and how much we miss out on it. Even the small things can make us realize how much we have and that we need to be thankful for it.

I edited the picture above on my iPod. The app is called "Vintage Camera." I've had fun playing around with it. I think it made the sun set look gorgeous.

DIY notebooks

I had a composition book that I had decorated a while ago, but I didn't like the style anymore. I just took off the old paper and redecorated it. Whenever I decorate notebooks with modge podge, the front cover always bends. I thought up a little way to keep my notebook closed and keep the front cover from bending.

I just punched a whole in the front of my notebook. I found a cute button. I pushed the back of it through the hole and secured it inside. I then punched another hole in the back. You have to make sure that the holes are lined up. I then got a small hair elastic and threaded it through the hole and secured it. I had it go around to the front of the notebook and wrap around the button to keep the cover closed.

I've got this new idea for the (somewhat) new year. Each week I'll put together a special journal page, focusing on a different topic each week. I had to do two this week to catch up for the week I missed. I thought I could put all of them in a three ring binder.
Here are some ideas I came up with for some topics:
Day Dreams
Travel
Laughter
Life
Family
Hope
Style
Friends
Music

I'll have to think up a lot more ideas in order to have a new one each week. Here's some pictures of the first weeks page.

To add a little extra touch I just added a little stitching.

I tried to take a picture of the page after I had typed everything on, but none of them looked good. Two weeks down, fifty to go.

Happy New Year (2012 here we come!)

Happy New Year! I hope you had as much fun as me celebrating last night. I spent the night playing games and watching movies with all of my family. I have a lot of new goals I want to work on and accomplish. I hope it's a great new year to spend with family and friends. This past year we have done so much and had a lot of fun. I hope this coming year can be as good, if not better. Happy 2012!
What's New Years Eve without fireworks? Oh well, the boys had fun lighting them off.

I couldn't resist posting this picture. It's two of my favorite things: giraffes and mustaches! I love it. Makes me laugh every time I look at it.
