vintage {my blue mason jar}

I have two vintage blue mason jars that I've been looking to use.
I filled one with flowers, but I decided to use the other one on a shelf.
I took another jar and filled it with some wooden hearts I had.
The vintage letter blocks are from my great grandma.

diy {mug}

I've seen this project a few times so I decided to give it a try.

materials:
mug
sharpie
oven
white board marker {optional}

Practice drawing your design with the white board marker.
Don't worry the white board marker comes off.

Once you've gotten the feel of it draw your design on with sharpie.
The sharpie DOES NOT come off, so be careful.

Put the mug in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
I've seen that you can put it in for 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
I did 30 and it worked just fine.

Make some hot coco and enjoy it in your new mug!

Have a fantastic Tuesday!

flowers {and mason jars}

I've been looking for a way to use my vintage blue mason jar.
I decided to fill it with some bright flowers.
Every time I look at it, it brightens my day.

Have a happy Monday!

diy {framed quote}

I've seen this quote several different places and I just love it.
I wanted to display it somehow.
I wanted to do something a little different than just printing it out and sticking it in a frame.

I wrote the quote on the back of a piece of graph paper.
I liked the color. It's a little different than usual.
To add a little something different I crossed the "t"s with arrows.
I also drew in my own little frame corners.
Instead of putting it in the frame, I just taped it to the glass.
{the main reason for that is I couldn't get the back off}
But I like the look it gives it.
It's different.
Unique.

It's now on display on my desk along with my wooden giraffe.

random {what's going on}

You might have noticed that I haven't been doing a theme for my blog.
I found that it doesn't work for me.
I don't like having to stick to a certain thing.
I like being able to do what I want when I want to.
So now I'm just back to all of my random posts.

So that's what's my post is about today:
a whole bunch of random stuff going on around here.

{my new planner}

{gorgeous sunsets}

{Junior Mints}

{my new diy mug}
{more on that later}

{owl coloring page}

{drinking hot coco in my new mug}

{Happy Tuesday!}

diy {pennant}

I love pennants.
They're so simple, but they add so much to a room.
I've been getting tired of my old curtains so i was looking for something new.
I decided to make a pennant to hang in the window.

I started out by making a pattern.
It was about 5 1/2" by 4".
When I cut them out they weren't exactly perfect, so I just trimmed them down.
I cut out 20 of them.

Then I just sewed two of them together.
I figured it would be too hard to sew them with the patterns toward each other and then turn them right side out, so I just sewed them with the patters facing out.

I cut a strip of white fabric about an inch wide.
I folded it over the top of the pennant pieces and sewed it on.
I hate pinning things together so I just free handed it.
It turned out just fine.

I gave it a quick iron before I hung it up.

{Happy Monday!}
