diy {upcycling an old jar}

I found this cool jar and had to put it to use. It wasn't the right shape to hold pencils or markers, so I decided to just use it for a little decoration.

I took the label off, but it left some sticky residue, so I used some Goo Be Gone to remove it.

I measured out some fabric and ribbon to go around the jar. I attached it with a few dabs of hot glue.

I decided it was a little plain so I added some ribbon and trim around the neck of the bottle.

And then I stuck a pinwheel in it. I hot glued it to a skewer so it would be tall enough.

diy {mini notebook}

I found these little compostion books and just had to decorate it. It was nice because you didn't need very much paper to cover it. It's simple, but cute.

a picnic {in the park}

We decided to have a picnic. We grabbed a blanket and stopped by Panda Express and then headed up to the park.

Yum! {grapes}

We have a grape vine and the grapes are finally ready to eat. Hooray! I love dipping them in Nutella, but then again I love dipping pretty much anything in Nutella.

diy {headbands}

I've been making quite a few headbands lately, so I thought I'd share the tutorial. They're super easy and super cute!

 You need 3 strips (or 6 if you're doing the double headband) that are 22 inches long and 2 inches wide.
 Safety pin them together at the top and braid the whole length.

 For the elasticness, I used some hair elastics. I used the thinner kind rather than the thicker ones.

 Attatch two elastics together. (shown above)

 Fold the end of the braided fabric over the elastic and sew it on. Make sure not to sew through the elastic.

 This is how it should look like. Then just repeat for the other end.

 You can add another braid for a little different look.

 I love these because they use so many different colors, so they match so much! Cute!

splish splash {pool time}

It's been pretty hot around here lately, so we decided to pull out the ol' kiddie pool.
